NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 18 Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will look to continue its undefeated conference streak as the Commodores host Mississippi and Mississippi State this weekend.
During its conference bye week Vanderbilt (11-5, 4-0) hosted and upset No. 15 Texas A&M 6-0, extending the current Commodore win streak to nine last Tuesday.
Ole Miss (4-10, 0-3) is 0-8 in recent matches and is still looking for its first conference win. The Lady Rebels are led by No. 97 Ilona Somers, who is 9-4 at the top of the lineup.
Mississippi State (5-6, 1-3) notched its first conference win on March 11 over Alabama. The win was key for the Bulldogs, who had to forfeit an SEC contest against Florida early in March due to illness.
The Friday match against Ole Miss will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the Sunday contest will start at noon at the Currey Tennis Center.
