OXFORD, Miss. – The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team will conclude its four-match road stand this weekend with conference opponents Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
The Commodores (7-6, 2-2) broke even in conference play last weekend with 5-2 win over Arkansas and a 6-1 loss to LSU. Vandy freshman Vijay Paul maintained his undefeated conference record with a straight set win over #86 Kevin Dessauer in Baton Rouge.
The No. 9 Rebels (14-2, 3-1) are led by No. 15 Erling Tviet, who is 11-3 at No. 1 and 3-1 in SEC singles.
Mississippi State (3-9, 0-4) is 0-7 in recent contests and have yet to earn a conference win. During its SEC bye week, the Bulldogs headed west to play Nevada and Nevada-Las Vegas, where they dropped both contests 4-3.
The Commodores will play at 2 p.m. in Oxford on Friday, followed by a 1 p.m. start in Starkville Sunday afternoon.
