March 12, 2007

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After a second consecutive weekend of SEC wins, the Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will break from conference play to host No. 17 Texas A&M at 1 p.m. CT Tuesday afternoon.

The Commodores (10-5, 4-0) will look to extend their current winning streak to nine with an upset over the 17th-ranked Aggies (11-2).

Vanderbilt senior Amanda Fish will likely battle her third Top 30 competitor in five days with Texas A&M’s No. 17 Anna Lubinsky. The Richardson, Tex. native is 9-2 at the top of the Aggie lineup. Last weekend Fish defeated No. 30 Ela Kaluder of Arkansas and fell to No. 2 Megan Falcon of LSU to set her overall record at 3-4 and 2-2 in conference matches.

Following the Aggie match, Vanderbilt will take a week off before finishing play in the SEC West with Ole Miss and Mississippi State on March 23 and 25 in Nashville.
