NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 20th-ranked Vanderbilt lacrosse team plays host to top-ranked North Carolina on Saturday, March 10, at Noon CT. Admission to all games at the VU Lacrosse Complex this season is free.
Vanderbilt has won its last two contests in convincing fashion, defeating Lehigh, 21-4, and Duquesne, 18-9. Senior Kendall Thrift and junior Margie Curran lead the Commodores’ attack with 14 points each.
Junior goalkeeper Brooke Shinaberry is allowing less than 10 goals per game, while junior Sasha Cielak has caused a team-high 10 turnovers for the Commodore defense.
The Tar Heels are the second top-ranked opponent Vanderbilt has faced in this young season. Northwestern was ranked No. 1 in the IWLCA’s preseason poll, only to lose to North Carolina before traveling to Nashville.
