The 19th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores (20-9, 10-5 Southeastern Conference) have won 13 consecutive home games — the longest streak in the eight-year tenure of head coach Kevin Stallings — and can close out the 2006-07 regular season 8-0 against SEC squads at Memorial Gymnasium with a victory over Arkansas (17-12, 6-9 SEC) on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m. The contest will not be televised.

Vanderbilt has posted six undefeated SEC home records in school history with the last coming during the 1993 campaign when the Commodores won the overall SEC crown with a 14-2 league mark.

Saturday also marks the final home game for three Commodore seniors — wing player Derrick Byars, guard Dan Cage and center Ted Skuchas.

Wrapping up his second season since transferring from the University of Virginia, Byars is saying goodbye to the Vanderbilt faithful in fine fashion. The Memphis native is a candidate for SEC Player of the Year, ranking among the SEC leaders in eight statistical categories since the start of the conference season. His 19.1 points per game ranks second in the league during SEC play.

Cage and Skuchas have helped the Commodores post 20 or more victories three times in the last four seasons. Cage ranks among the top 3-point shooters in the SEC. Skuchas has become a crowd favorite with his defensive presence and aggressive play in the interior.

Arkansas owns an 11-7 advantage in the all-time series with Vanderbilt, including a 78-66 win in Fayetteville last season.
