Junior forward Ross Neltner makes his return trip to LSU Wednesday. Neltner played two seasons in Baton Rouge before transferring to Vanderbilt. In his first season on the court for the Commodores, he leads the team with 5.9 rebounds per game and ranks second in field goal shooting at 54.3 percent. Vanderbilt plays its fourth ranked opponent in five games when the Commodores travel to No. 21 LSU Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip off. The game will not be televised.

In an unprecedented run of success, Vanderbilt (13-6, 3-2 Southeastern Conference) has won each of its last four contests against ranked teams this season.

The Commodores latest such victory came at then-No. 25 Kentucky on Saturday when Vanderbilt went on a 10-0 run late in the game to record a 72-67 win at Rupp Arena. SEC Player of the Week honoree Derrick Byars led all scorers with 23 points, four 3-pointers and a game-high eight rebounds. Shan Foster added 16 points to go along with seven rebounds and a career-high seven assists. Dan Cage scored seven of his 10 points in the final two minutes to help secure the win.

LSU (13-5, 2-2 SEC) suffered a 72-52 setback at Arkansas on Saturday. Glen Davis led all Tigers with 16 points and eight rebounds. Davis enters this week first in the SEC in rebounding (10.6 rpg) and second in scoring (18.6 ppg).

The Tigers won both meetings last season: 77-66 at Memorial Gymnasium on Feb. 22 and 92-73 in the second round of the SEC Tournament at Nashville’s Gaylord Entertainment Center on March 10. LSU has won five of the last six meetings in the series, including each of the last three.

Vanderbilt leads the all-time series 53-48. LSU leads the series 27-19 in Baton Rouge.
