WBB Travels to Western Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The 15th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team will make the 90-minute drive up Interstate-65 to face Western Kentucky in the 24th-annual BB&T Classic on Thursday, Nov. 16. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. CT tip-off.

BB&T Bank is offering vouchers good for two free tickets to the game at each of its Bowling Green branches, beginning today. Fans can stop by any bank branch in that area to pick up the vouchers, then redeem them at E.A. Diddle Arena on Thursday night. Tickets are regularly priced at $8-$11.

The game also will be broadcast nationally on Fox College Sports Atlantic by way of the Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network. Fox College Sports Atlantic is available with the Digital Sports Package of Comcast cable in Nashville (Channel 262), and can be found on most major satellite carriers (contact your provider).

Locally in Kentucky, the game is available on WKYU-PBS (cable channel 11) in Bowling Green, as well as on WYCS-TV and Channel 19 TV in Louisville.

Both teams enter the contest at 1-0, fresh off road wins. Vanderbilt traveled to Colorado on Sunday, and came away with an 81-76 victory. Senior Carla Thomas led the Commodores with 26 points and seven rebounds.

Western Kentucky defeated Louisiana Tech on Saturday in Ruston, La. Junior Crystal Kelly led all scorers with 21 points in the victory.

Thursday’s game marks the 28th meeting between Vanderbilt and Western Kentucky. The Commodores hold a slight 15-12 edge in the series after posting a 72-57 victory last season in Nashville. Vanderbilt has won four of the last five meetings since 2000.
