Vanderbilt Soccer Honors Seniors In Home Finale; Hit The Road On Sunday

Vanderbilt will honor five seniors on Senior Night in the regular season home finale against Ole Miss on Friday at 7 p.m. at the VU Soccer Complex. The senior day function will take place pre-game. Tickets are only $3 for adults and $1 for youth. The Commodores will then finish off the weekend with a road game against Mississippi State on Sunday at 1 p.m.

vs. Ole Miss: Vanderbilt leads 3-1-3. The last four meetings have gone into overtime.

vs. Mississippi State: Vanderbilt leads 7-1 all-time including a 2-0 win last year in Nashville.

VU’s Ronnie Coveleskie is 66-59-23 in her eighth season overall as a head coach and is 51-38-21 in six seasons in Nashville.

Ole Miss’ Steve Holeman is 130-93-17 in 12th season in Oxford. He is 137-99-20 in his 13th season overall.

MSU’s Neil McDonald is 15-33-7 in his third season in Starkville.

Team Tidbits

Amy Baumann scored both Vanderbilt goals in the 2-1 overtime win over Georgia last Friday in Athens. Baumann doubled her career single season best with the outing and now has four goals on the year … After the Commodores 2-1 overtime loss to #11 Tennessee, the team has now played nine OT contests in 16 games overall on the year … The team’s three losses on the year have come against nationally ranked programs (William and Mary, Florida, Tennessee) … Amy Wilcox scored her second goal of the season in Sunday’s game against UT … The Commodores will play their final regular season home game of the year against Ole Miss on Friday. Prior to the game the team will honor its five seniors: Kari Boersma, Monica Buff, Tyler Griffin, Lea Lafield and Susan McAleavey … The team will then play the final two regular season games on the road against Mississippi State and Kentucky … The team needs two more wins to reach double digit wins in back to back seasons for the first time since the 1997-98 seasons … With the win against Georgia, the team assured itself of a winning season, and achieved that feat in back to back years for the first time since 1997-98.
