Women’s Soccer Heads to Auburn Classic 8/31/2006 Commodores to play William and Mary and Dartmouth at the Auburn Classic NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt Soccer heads to Auburn, Ala., this weekend to face William & Mary and Dartmouth in the Auburn Classic. The Commodores (0-0-2) are in search of their first win of the season after tying Colorado and Denver last weekend in the Vanderbilt Classic. They will open the tourney against William & Mary on Friday at 4:30 p.m., while host Auburn will face Dartmouth at 7 p.m. VU will then face Dartmouth on Sunday at 11 a.m., with the Tigers taking on William & Mary following that contest at 1:30 p.m. The Tribe are 2-0 on the season and ranked No. 8 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by Soccer Buzz. They defeated UNC Greensboro, 3-1, and Syracuse, 3-0, last weekend at home. W&M returns eight starters from last season, led by second-team all-conference selections Anna Young and Claire Zimmeck. Dartmouth opens its season this weekend at Auburn, after a successful 2005 campaign that saw the team finish with a 12-5-1 record under first-year head coach Angie Hind. Soccer Buzz ranks the Big Green No. 22 nationally and No. 3 in the Northeast Region.
