Soccer Video Interview with Tyler Griffin 8/17/2006 The Commodore Soccer season is almost here! Check out our preseason video interview with senior goalkeeper Tyler Griffin (click here to watch). Griffin, who twice last year set records by posting lengthy scoreless streaks, established a new team-high 14 shutouts, and ended the season seventh in the country for goals against average (0.45). In addition to twice being named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week, she garnered NSCAA All American recognition, and SEC Defensive Player of the Year. Head Coach Ronnie Coveleskie and the Commodores return 17 letter-winners as they aim to earn a repeat trip to the NCAA Tournament. Last year’s squad finished at 17-3-3 on the season (8-2-1 in SEC play), their best record in nearly a decade. The season gets underway with an exhibition game at home August 18 against Missouri, followed by the regular season opener August 25 on the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex against Colorado.
