USA Baseball’s Game Postponed Monday 8/7/2006 HAVANA, Cuba — The USA Baseball National Team’s game against the Czech Republic in the opening round of the FISU World University Championships was postponed Monday due to rain and wet field conditions. The game will be made up at a time and date to be determined. The US will play the Virgin Islands Tuesday as scheduled at 9 a.m. CT at Mederos Stadium. The Virgin Islands and Mexico played into the ninth inning of their 10 a.m. contest before rain caused a delay at Fernandez Stadium. The teams came back out and completed the top of the ninth and recorded one out in the bottom of the ninth, before the rain came back. Mexico was leading 9-6 before the game was called. |
