ORLANDO, Fla. — Vanderbilt junior Luke List shot an even-par 72 Saturday to finish in a tie for 74th at the NCAA East Regional, hosted by the Lake Nona Golf Club.

For the three-day event, List shot even par on first nine holes of the course’s par-72, 7,215-yard layout. It was the back nine which had given the Ringgold, Ga., native trouble through the first two days of play. But on Saturday, List put that behind him and birdied two of his first three holes to go out at even par.

Eighth-seeded Wake Forest overcame a three-shot deficit to win the NCAA East Regional by one
stroke over defending national champion and top seed Georgia. The Demon Deacons carded a five-under 283 and finished the 54-hole event at even par.

UCLA’s Kevin Chappell made a birdie on the ninth hole, his last of the day, to win medalist honors at 5-under. Southern California’s Taylor Wood, Coastal Carolina’s Dustin Johnson and UNLV’s Jarred Texter tied for second at 4-under.

Texas Tech (+9), North Carolina (+10) Charlotte (+13) and Coastal Carolina (+13) rounded out the top six teams, while UCLA (+14), Auburn (+15), South Carolina (+17) and UNLV (+20) finished in the top 10 and earned the right to advance to the NCAA Championship at the Crosswater Club in Sunriver, Ore. May 31-June 3.

Tennessee Tech’s Scott Stallings rolled in a birdie putt on the ninth hole, his final hole of the day, to shoot a 2-under 70 and tie for eighth in the individual standings at 2-under. He and Wood from Southern California earned the right to advance to the NCAA Championship as individuals.
