ORLANDO, Fla. — Vanderbilt junior Luke List begins play Thursday as part of the 141-player field in the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf East Regional at the Lake Nona Golf Club.

Play begins at 7 a.m. ET off the first and 10th tees, with List scheduled to tee off from the 10th at 1:23 p.m. The Ringgold, Ga., native will play the first round with Daniel Willett of Jacksonville State and Matt Cook of Western Carolina.

List, the Commodores’ lone representative in postseason play, earned first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors for the second straight season after carding seven top-10 finishes during the 2005-06 campaign and winning medalist honors three times — at the Mason Rudolph Championship, the All-American Classic and the New Year’s Invitational.

Top-ranked Georgia headlines a field that will tackle Lake Nona’s par-72, 7,215-yard layout. The remaining top-five seeds in the region are UCLA, UNLV, Georgia State and North Carolina. List will face more familiar competition, as three remaining teams will join Georgia in representing the SEC in Orlando — Auburn, Tennessee and South Carolina.

The top 10 teams and top three individuals not on those 10 teams will advance to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, May 31-June 3, at the Crosswater Golf Club at Sunriver Resort (Ore.).
