GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The SEC’s top two teams will battle in Florida on Friday, when No. 3 Florida will host No. 7 Vanderbilt in Gainesville. The ‘Dores will follow up with a trip to South Carolina to face the Gamecocks on Sunday.

The Gators (15-1, 8-0) fell to Vanderbilt (18-2, 8-0) last year in Nashville, 4-3. The Commodores dropped the doubles point, but former ‘Dore Audra Falk and current ‘Dores Amanda Fish, Amanda Taylor, and Taka Bertrand notched singles wins to take the victory.

The Commodores have not been able to down Florida in Gainesville in 15 contests, and are 2-31 in all time matches against the Gators.

“We’re really looking forward to this match,” VU Head Coach Geoff Macdonald said. “We’ve had some great matches in the past with Florida.”

On Sunday, the Gamecocks (11-6, 4-4) will host the Commodores in Columbia.
USC has been unable to down any SEC east teams and split road matches last week, falling to Alabama 4-3 and downing Auburn 7-0.

Friday’s contest will begin at 3 p.m. EST, and results can be followed at http://www.gatorzone.com/tennis/women/ . The ‘Dores will play South Carolina Sunday at 1 p.m.
