GREENSBORO, NC–Chris Brady and Jacqui Concolino led a strong Vanderbilt surge as the Commodores climbed into a 10th place finish at the Bryan National Collegiate Golf Championship Sunday. Vanderbilt’s one-over par total was the third best round of the day and was easily its finest performance of the weekend.

Georgia upset top-rated Duke to win the team title while the Bulldogs’ Taylor Leon won medalist honors at 213, three-under par for the 54 holes.

Brady was on No. 10 for the shotgun start and posted a flashy four-under 32 on the back nine behind birdies on 11, 13 and 18 and an eagle two on the 17th.  She came in one-over on the front to finish with a solid 69, three strokes under-par.  Her five-over 221 total bolted her into a ninth place tie.

Concolino was an impressive four-under par until her final hole, with a pair of birdies on each side of the 6,210 yard Bryan National Champions Course.  The long hitting freshman birdied both par 5’s on the back nine. However, she suffered a double-bogey six on No. 10, her last hole, to come in at 70.

Vanderbilt also received strong play from Liebelei Lawrence, who’s 73 was continuation of her tournament pace of playing better each day. She had three birdies but was hurt by a double bogey five on No. 7.

Another plus for the Commodores was the return to active play by Kristen Svicarovich, who was forced to withdraw in the midst of her Friday round by illness and was held out of competition Saturday.  She came back with a 77.  Amber Lundskog completed the VU quintet with a non-scoring 89.
