3/9/2006 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt will host No. 21 Arkansas on Friday and No. 24 LSU on Sunday at the Currey Tennis Center. The Commodores (5-5, 0-2) will be looking to rebound after two SEC road losses last weekend against Alabama (4-3) and Auburn (7-0). Arkansas (10-4, 1-1) is entering Friday’s contest with two recent wins over Tennessee (5-2) and Tulsa (5-2). The Razorbacks are led by #25 Adrian Zguns in singles. The team boasts three other ranked players in the singles line- up, including #54 Rohan Gajjar at No. 2, #40 Matt Roberts at No. 3 and #41 Blake Strode at No. 4. Following their Kentucky match up on Friday, the LSU Tigers (8-5, 1-1) will play in Nashville on Sunday. The Tigers most recently fell to No. 1 Georgia (6-1), earning one match point at No. 3 singles when Mark Growcott defeated Bulldog Antonio Ruiz 6-4, 7-5. The last two match points for the ‘Dores came at last Friday’s contest against Alabama. The Commodores notched the doubles point and earned victories with Ryan Preston at No. 1 singles and Andy Mack and No. 3. Following the weekend mathces, the Commodores will remain in Nashville for their next two contests against Ole Miss and Mississippi State on March 24 and 26. |
