OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Demarre Carroll scored 19 points to lead Vanderbilt to 77-62 win over Mississippi on Wednesday.

Vanderbilt (16-10, 7-8 Southeastern Conference) dominated from the start, finishing 27-of-43 from the field and 9-of-16 from 3-point range. Shan Foster added 18 points for Vanderbilt and Derrick Byars put 16 on the board.

Dwayne Curtis led Ole Miss with 15 points and (14-14, 4-11) Jermey Parnell added 14.

The win enhanced Vanderbilt’s postseason hopes. The Commodores have won four of the last six games and six straight outings against Ole Miss.

Vanderbilt built a 13-2 lead in the opening three minutes, connecting on their first five shots from the field. Byars hit three consecutive 3-pointers.

The Commodores led 41-33 at halftime after leading by as many as 17 points. Byars had 13 points at halftime for Vanderbilt, and hit 75 percent from the field.

Vanderbilt was never seriously threatened in the second half. The Commodores built their biggest lead, 70-45, on a three-point shot by Foster with 6:45 left.

Ole Miss hit only 40 percent from the field, including a 7-of-10 performance by Curtis.

Vanderbilt had 20 turnovers, but outrebounded the Rebels 28-26, including eight apiece from Julian Terrell and Carroll.
