‘Dores Play Host to Wildcats Saturday 2/10/2006
Vanderbilt plays three of its next four at home beginning Saturday when Kentucky visits for a 2 p.m. CT tip off. The game will be televised by Jefferson Pilot Sports. Vanderbilt (12-8, 3-6 Southeastern Conference) is looking to snap a four-game losing streak after dropping a 77-74 overtime decision at Alabama on Wednesday. Shan Foster tallied a career-high 30 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field in the loss. Derrick Byars added 13 points. Kentucky (15-5-8, 5-4 SEC) has lost back-to-back games, including a 75-67 setback to Tennessee Tuesday in Lexington. The Commodores claimed a 57-52 victory over the Wildcats on Jan. 10 in Lexington. It marked Vanderbilt’s first win at Rupp Arena in series history (29 games). A win Saturday would give the Commodores their first series sweep of Kentucky since the 1973-74 campaign. Kentucky leads the overall series 128-37, including a 47-21 lead in Nashville. |
