2/9/2006 The Commodores will host the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Friday, February 10 at the Currey Tennis Center. The No. 37 Commodores (2-1) will be looking to recover from their loss against the No. 32 University of Louisville Cardinals (1-6) last weekend. “We had a disappointing loss on the road so it’s good to be back home. We’re looking forward to getting back on track,” Vanderbilt Head Coach Ian Duvenhage said. Freshman Nik Cromydas took the only singles victory against Louisville when he defeated Nicolas Howard (6-2, 6-2) at the No. 5 seed. Cromydas currently remains undefeated in 2006. The Mocs are entering the contest on a three game winning streak with victories against Wright State (5-0), Eastern Kentucky (7-0), and Morehead State (7-0). UTC’s No. 1 singles player, Arturo Navarro, transferred to Nebraska in January, leaving the Mocs scrambling to fill his position. Zimbabwe native Mark Fynn has most recently led the Mocs at the No. 1 seed and currently stands at 3-1 for the season. The dual match will begin at 2 p.m on Friday.
