Vanderbilt takes to the road for the fifth time in its last eight games Wednesday when it battles Alabama at Coleman Coliseum. The game tips at 7 p.m. CT and will be televised by Jefferson Pilot Sports.

The Commodores (12-7, 3-5 Southeastern Conference) are looking to snap a three-game losing streak after suffering a 74-73 setback to Georgia on Saturday. Three Commodores scored in double figures led by Derrick Byars’ 21 points. The junior transfer hit 6-of-10 attempts from the field, including four 3-pointers. Julian Terrell posted 16 points and eight rebounds while Shan Foster added 15 points. Georgia’s Sundiata Gaines tipped in his own miss with 18 seconds remaining to give the Bulldogs the win.

Alabama (12-8, 5-3 SEC) upset then-No. 24 LSU, 67-62, Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Three Crimson Tide players reached double figures in scoring led by Ronald Steele’s 21 points. Steele went 6-of-13 from the field and 8-of-8 from the foul line.

Alabama owns a 62-60 lead in the overall series, including a 41-18 advantage in Tuscaloosa. However, Vanderbilt has won the last four meetings.
