Taka Bertrand is SEC’s Player of the Week 2/7/2006 Commodore Taka Bertrand earned the SEC Player of the Week award for her performance at the ITA National Tournament last week. No. 47 Bertrand played the No. 2 singles seed in the tourney and defeated all her opponents in two-set matches. In her biggest win of 2006 season Bertrand defeated TCU’s No. 30 Anna Sydorska 6-4, 6-4. Bertarnd is currently 6-0 in singles and is 4-2 in doubles with partner Amanda Fish. The Commodore sophomore is sharing the SEC award with co-player of the week freshman Natasa Vuckovic of South Carolina. |
