2006 Baseball Banquet & Alumni Game This Weekend

Nashville, Tenn. – Vanderbilt baseball will hold its 2006 Meet the Commodores Banquet this Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Marriott Stadium Club.

The banquet will start with autographs and a social hour with dinner served at 7:30 p.m. All guests will receive a 2006 Baseball Poster, media guide and schedule cards. Head Coach Tim Corbin will introduce the 2006 Commodores and hand out the awards for the 2005 team. Vanderbilt’s Joe Fisher will serve as emcee of the evening’s events.

Tickets for the banquet are $35 for adults and $12 for children. Corporate tables ($600) are also available by calling Director of Baseball Operations Mike Calitri at 615-322-3716. Seating is limited to the first 400 guests, so interested parties should call as soon as possible.

In addition to the banquet, this year the Commodores will have an alumni game on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. at Hawkins Field. The game will feature the 2006 baseball squad against former Vanderbilt players. Those scheduled to play for the alumni team are Jeremy Sowers, Jensen Lewis, Ryan Mullins, Cesar Nicholas, Ryan Klosterman and Mike Baxter among others.

If there is inclimate weather, the game will be rescheduled for Sunday, Feb.12 at 1:00 p.m.

Saturday’s event is free to the public, however donations are welcome. Donations will support Nashville’s inner city baseball programs.
