Men’s Netters Head to Lousiville 2/2/2006 LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 39 Commodores will play their first road match of 2006 against the No. 32 Cardinals at the University of Louisville on Friday, February 3. The Commodores (2-0) will enter the match with two dual match wins over UT- Martin (7-0) and Tennessee Tech (7-0). The ‘Dores currently boast two ranked singles players, junior Andy Mack (No. 41) and sophomore Ryan Preston (No. 64). Over the weekend Preston played the No. 1 slot and only dropped one game in four singles sets. The Cardinals (3-2) recently dropped two SEC road matches to No. 3 Georgia (7-0) and No. 6 Mississippi (5-1) but have notched a victory over No. 55 Northwestern (5-2). Leading the Cardinals is Junior Damar Johnson who was voted to the Big East All-Conference Team in 2005. Cardinal duo Jakob Gustafsson and Jeremy Clark currently leads the team in doubles with a 47th ITA ranking. “It will be a tough match,” Vanderbilt Head Coach Ian Duvenhage said. “We fully understand that our opponents are only going to get tougher from here.
