Mississippi State Head Coach Rick Stansbury 1/21/2006 MississippiState Head Coach Rick Stansbury Opening Statement: “You have to give Vanderbilt a lot of credit. They bounced back after a loss. They played exceptionally well. If they make the shots they have to at home, they’re difficult for anyone to beat. Our team had the same problem it’s been having recently — turning the ball over. We have no chance to go on the road and turn the ball over five out of the first seven possessions and win, especially against a quality team like Vanderbilt.”
On Defending Vanderbilt:
“Vanderbilt is a good team. They’re an experienced team. They were good last year and now they are a year older. They’re experienced, they’re athletic. Vanderbilt’s good now and will be right up there in the league at the end of the season. I know they’re disappointed with their loss at home the other night, but they should know they’re difficult to beat at home.”
On Dan Cage:
“Everyone knew he was a spot shooter, but now he plays more. He’s in everyone’s scouting reports. He’s a great shooter. Eleven points in 21 minutes — that’s efficient production. He’s a good piece for Vanderbilt. He should feel like he’s playing a big role.” |
