Vanderbilt plays its first game away from Memorial Gymnasium this season when the Commodores travel to our nation’s capital to battle Georgetown Saturday at 12 p.m. CT. The game will not be televised.

The Commodores (3-0) are coming off an 85-53 win over UNC Greensboro on Tuesday. Senior Julian Terrell scored a team-high 17 points to go along with five rebounds and five blocks. Sophomore Shan Foster tallied 16 points while junior Derrick Byars and sophomore DeMarre Carroll added 15 points each.

Foster has led a balanced attack for Vanderbilt, averaging a team-best 19.3 points during the first three games. The Commodores have posted four scorers in double figures in each game this season. Terrell has been strong defensively, averaging a team-high 8.7 rebounds and an SEC-high 3.3 blocks.

Saturday marks the first home game of the season for Georgetown (2-0). The Hoyas have defeated both Navy (72-49) and James Madison (73-66) on the road. Georgetown also has been balanced this season. Sophomore Roy Hibbert averages a team-high 21.5 points.

Vanderbilt and Georgetown have met only once prior in series history. The Hoyas topped the Commodores 70-60 in the opening round of the 1991 NCAA Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.

Following Saturday’s contest, Vanderbilt returns to Nashville for a five-game homestand that includes contests with Oregon (Nov. 30) and Cincinnati (Dec. 10).
