On Vanderbilt jumping out to an early lead:
“They were very physical and we had not seen that yet. That’s something that you can’t simulate in practice. I think they were bumping with us and getting physical and so we dropped it and lost the ball a couple of times and we got out of sync pretty quickly.”
On Vanderbilt’s balanced offense:
“They do a great job with their screen-and-lobs and their screen-and-jump shots. They did a good job and a bunch of different things with their offensive looks that made it difficult for us. They’ve got a very balanced team. They are a very talented, well-coached team and they are very good in this gym.”
On Vanderbilt’s defensive intensity:
“I’m really, mainly concerned with what we were doing on offense. We got out of our rhythm and we were playing a little too much one-on-one out there. But they did have a very physical, athletic team that created a lot of turnovers.”
On the Spartans’ second-half execution and second-chance points:
“We executed better in the second half. I was proud of the way the guys came out of half time. When you get shots out of your offense, guys know where and when those shots are coming from. The second half we got into it a little better and we anticipated where the boards were be.” |
