Men’s Hoops to Host UNC-Greensboro Tuesday

The Commodores Play Host to UNC Greensboro Vanderbilt plays its third game in five days when UNC Greensboro visits Memorial Gymnasium Tuesday. The match-up is the second game of a doubleheader that starts with the Vanderbilt-Alabama A&M women’s game at 6 p.m. The men’s contest will follow 30 minutes after the first game’s conclusion.

The Commodores (2-0) are coming off an 80-61 victory over Furman on Sunday. Shan Foster led all scorer with 25 points – tying a career-high. Julian Terrell grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Alex Gordon (16 points, 10 assists) and Ted Skuchas (10 points, 10 rebounds) registered their first career double-double.

UNC Greensboro (2-1) is playing its first game in a week, having won two of three games at the BCA Classic in Seattle, Wash., Nov. 13-15. In their two wins, the Spartans held both foes under 50 points.

Foster has led the Commodore attack in the early season. The First Team All-Southeastern Conference selection (by SEC coaches) is averaging a team-best 21.0 points while shooting 55.2 percent from the field (16-of-29). Terrell is averaging a 10.5 rebounds while Gordon is dishing out 7.5 assists a game.

Vanderbilt won the only other meeting in the UNC Greensboro series — an 83-65 decision on Dec. 18, 1997. The Commodores have won 26 consecutive non-conference home games.
