The drive ended with freshman Bryant Hahnfeldt converting a 33-yard field goal, his 12th of the season. Kickoff team miscues caused the Commodores problems throughout the first half. In addition to Kentucky taking a blocked field 72 yards for a touchdown, Wildcat returner Rafael Little gave his squad excellent field possession by returning punts 57 and 31 yards. The Commodores also fumbled a kickoff return, resulting in Kentucky possession at the VU 3-yard line. Jay Cutler was four of five for 52 yards on the drive, culminating the possession with a 13-yard TD to Bennett.
