Men’s Basketball Season Ticket Sales Surging

11/11/2005

Vanderbilt officials announced Thursday that season ticket sales for men’s basketball are ahead of last year’s pace and the early high interest level may result in no public sale of single-game tickets.

“Commodore fans who want to be a part of the atmosphere inside Memorial Gymnasium this basketball season should be making their decision now,” Director of Marketing Eric Nichols said. “There are sections of the gym that are already sold out and others that only have a few seats remaining.”

Through Wednesday, Vanderbilt had season ticket sales over 7,800  – surpassing last year’s total to this point by more than 600.

“When taking into account the number of seats allotted for such groups as Vanderbilt students there are not many more seats available to the general public,” Nichols said.

For the third consecutive year, basketball season ticket prices start at only $75. New this year for men’s games is a family season ticket package on the second level. The family package includes two adult tickets and two youth (17 and under) tickets in sections 2G-2K for only $675. That’s less than $10 per person each game. Also new this season, purchasing season tickets in sections 2G-2K will no longer require fans to contribute to the National Commodore Club.

Tickets can be purchased on-line at vucommodores.com or by calling 615-322-GOLD (option 2) between 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Ticket orders also can be made at the Vanderbilt ticket office at the McGugin Center. Office hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
