Osemwegie Posts Solid Performance on Defense
Vanderbilt linebacker Moses Osemwegie posted a solid performance in Saturday’s setback to Georgia. The senior tied a career high with 13 tackles (10 solo tackles) to go along with two tackles for loss, a sack and an interception. Osemwegie has registered 10 or more tackles in each of the past three games, and in four of the past five. 

Cutler Moves Up SEC’s Career Passing Yardage Chart
Quarterback Jay Cutler completed 15-of-28 pass attempts for 174 yards Saturday against Georgia. With 7,287 career passing yards, Cutler climbs into 19th place all-time in the Southeastern Conference. The senior moves past two former Florida signal callers in Wayne Peace (7,206) and Doug Johnson (7,114). 

First Half Highlights
Vanderbilt’s offense showed much improvement from last week’s game against LSU. After tallying only 138 total yards a week ago against the Tigers, the Commodores totaled 166 yard in the first half against Georgia. Jay Cutler connected with fullback Steven Bright four times for 63 yards, including a 29-yard strike. Tailback Jeff Jennings recorded 10 rushes for 57 yards.

Vanderbilt tied the game at 7-7 with 7:40 remaining in the second quarter when tailback Cassen Jackson-Garrison ran 4 yards for a touchdown. The scoring run completed a 12-play, 80-yard drive, covering 5:54. The drive was Vanderbilt’s longest in 10 scoring drives since a 15-play, 80-yard scoring drive that lasted 6:38 against Richmond.   

Second Half Highlights
Senior Marlon White caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Cutler to pull Vanderbilt within a 24-14 margin with 7:57 left in the third quarter. The scoring strike capped off a seven-play 58-yard drive that lasted 2:27. It marked White’s fourth touchdown reception of the year, his most in a single season? Following a Georgia field goal, Commodore freshman place kicker Bryant Hahnfeldt pulled Vanderbilt within 27-17 at 4:06 in the third quarter when he split the uprights on a 45-yard field goal. It marked the fifth time in six tries this season in which Hahnfeldt converted a field goal of 40 or more yards. 

General Notes
Sophomore Marcus Buggs recorded three tackles in his first start of the season at linebacker ? Junior Steven Bright caught a career-high five passes for 69 yards in his first career start at fullback. He caught four passes for 63 yards in the first half. Attendance for the Vanderbilt-Georgia contest was a Vanderbilt Stadium season-high 38,822? In pregame festivities, the Vanderbilt Homecoming military flyover was conducted by Marine pilots of the Fixed Wing Fighting Attack (All-Weather) -224 unit stationed in Beaufort, S.C. The flyover was coordinated by Vanderbilt’s Naval ROTC unit.
