Fans Meet Players, Coaches at Dore Jam IV

8/14/2005

Head coach Bobby Johnson and the Vanderbilt football team hosted 1,854 Commodore fans at Dore Jam IV on the John Rich Practice Field Sunday afternoon.

The Commodore Fan Day boasted numerous activities for kids including a power bungee jump, hurdle racing and speed pitches, and also offered free food and refreshments.

The highlight for most fans was getting to meet and greet Commodore student-athletes and coaches, as well as the chance to get autographs.

“Events like this really show the special kind of student-athletes that attend Vanderbilt,” said Eric Nichols, director of marketing. “Our student-athletes were happy to meet and chat with all their supporters and sign autographs. This is just one more step in our mission to be the number one choice for family entertainment in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.”

The Commodores will begin their season on the road at Wake Forest (9/1) and at Arkansas (9/10), and fans will again get a chance to see the team when it plays host to Ole Miss in the home-opener on Sept. 17.
