Germanese, Krause Earn Preseason Honors

8/10/2005 The Vanderbilt men’s soccer team boasts two members of the Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference team. Senior John Krause and Sophomore Joe Germanese were both tabbed by the coaches for the All-conference squad. The pair put the Commodores in a tie with Drake for the second-most members honored, and one fewer than Creighton.

Vanderbilt, which begins practice this week, also was picked to finish fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference, receiving 34 votes in the 2005 Preseason Coaches Poll. The Commodores were just edged out of fourth place by Drake (38) and were 29 votes behind near- consensus No. 1 Creighton.

Bradley received one first place vote and 52 total points to finish second in the pre-season voting, while Missouri State (44 points) nabbed the third spot.
