Vanderbilt Announces Tentative Kickoff Times for Six Home Games

5/26/2005

Nashville, Tenn. – If Vanderbilt officials get their wish, the Commodores will host three night games followed by three afternoon contests during the upcoming home football schedule.

In releasing its tentative home kickoff schedule, Vanderbilt will start games versus Ole Miss on Sept. 17, Richmond on Sept. 24 and Middle Tennessee on Oct. 1 at 6:00 p.m. CT, then start its last final home games against LSU, Georgia and Kentucky at 1:00 p.m.

The kickoff schedule is tentative due to television agreements with the Southeastern Conference. The Vanderbilt-Ole Miss game, though tentatively slated to start at night, appears likely for an 11:30 a.m. kickoff, with regional television coverage on Jefferson-Pilot Sports. The game has been an annual early-season feature for JP Sports for the last decade.

The Commodores open the 2005 season on the road in Winston-Salem, N.C., against Wake Forest of the ACC on Thursday, Sept. 1. Kickoff for the opener is tenatively 5:30 p.m., CT.
