Fish Earns Player of the Week Honors 4/18/2005 VU sophomore Amanda Fish was awarded her second SEC Player of the Week honor by the league office on Monday. The Scituate, Mass. native knocked off Kentucky’s No. 33 Kim Coventry in Saturday’s regular season finale to cap her perfect, 11-0 run through the SEC. Overall, Fish is 20-3 and posts eight wins over top 100 opponents in her second season on West End. Fish and doubles partner Taka Bertrand took the first match of the doubles draw against the No. 2 Wildcats. Bertrand and Fish dropped their No. 14 UK opponents, 8-5. With the win, the VU duo improves their record to 18-5, 8-2 SEC. Fish and her teammates return to action at the SEC Tournament on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Tuscaloosa, Ala. |
