Coates’ Crew Faces Razorbacks, Tigers 3/24/2005 The No. 40 Vanderbilt men’s tennis team hits the road yet again this weekend as they travel to Fayetteville on Friday to take on the Razorbacks and then head to Baton Rouge on Sunday for a date with the Tigers. Interim Head Coach Eddie Coates has his Dores focused on getting back to .500 in conference play. Currently, the Commodores stand 9-5 record overall, 1-3 SEC. VU features No. 38, senior Scott Brown. Brown has chalked up 11 singles wins, 10 of which came playing at the No. 1 singles position. The VU senior also teams up with rookie Jason Pinsky to lead the Commodores with an 11-3 record at the first doubles slot. The first contest of the weekend comes by way of the No. 71 Arkansas Razorbacks. The ‘Backs feature No. 57 Rohan Gajjar and currently hold a record of 2-9, 0-4 SEC. After the showdown with the Razorbacks, the Dores travel to face the No. 16 LSU Tigers. The Tigers post a 12-4 record, but are still searching for their first SEC triumph. Head Coach Jeff Brown’s troop showcases 3 netters ranked in the top 100 along with three doubles tandems ranked in the top 50. The Dores battle the Razorbacks at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and return to face the Tigers at the same time on Sunday. |
