Brady Named SEC Golfer of the Week 3/21/2005 For the second time this season, Vanderbilt’s Chris Brady is the Southeastern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week. The Greensboro, N.C. native, took medalist honors at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic, March 18-20, at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La. Brady shot even par 72 in the first round and then shot her best round, a 68, on the second day before finishing with a 71 in the third round, for a three round score of 211, three shots better than second place Rebecca Kuhn of LSU. Brady’s 68 on the second day was the second lowest round of the tournament (67 by Miss. State’s Amanda Mathis) and her 71 on the final day was just one of three golfers under-par for the round. Brady helped the Commodores to a fourth place finish in the event, finishing as the second highest of six SEC teams behind eventual team champion LSU. For the season, Brady is fourth in the SEC with a 73.43 stroke average, and is now ranked 21st in the nation among individual women’s golfers by GolfWeek. |
