VU To Meet Auburn In SEC Tourney 3/6/2005 SEC Tourney Bracket Vanderbilt will take on Auburn in the first round of the 2005 Southeastern Conference Tournament at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Thursday, March 10 at 8:45 p.m. CT. The game will be televised by Jefferson Pilot Sports. The Commodores (18-12, 8-8 SEC) earned the SEC Eastern Division’s third seed. Auburn received the SEC West’s sixth seed. Vanderbilt enters the tournament having won seven of its past 11 games. The Commodores lost an 81-69 decision at LSU on Saturday despite career-high point totals from Mario Moore (30) and Julian Terrell (21). Auburn (13-16, 4-12 SEC) concluded the regular season with a 77-64 home victory over Arkansas. Vanderbilt rallied to top the Tigers, 67-43, in Auburn on Feb. 16 thanks in part to a 21-0 run to start the second half. Corey Smith led all scorers with 18 points to go along with eight rebounds. The Vanderbilt-Auburn winner advances to battle SEC Western Division co-champion LSU on Friday at 8:45 p.m. CT. The Tigers finished the regular season 19-8 overall and 12-4 in the league.
