VU Bowling Takes One in Day One 3/6/2005 The Vanderbilt bowling team claimed one victory out of five games Saturday in the first day of action at the Holiday Bowl Tournament in Bessemer, Ala. The lone Commodores triumph came at the hands of Delta State. The Dores rolled solid 838 to drop DSU by more than 70 pins. Therese Griner and Christine Luce rolled high scores for the Commodores on Saturday against Delta State, with Griner hurling a stellar 199 and Christine Luce tossing a 190. “Overall, I thought we bowled pretty well on Day One,” said Vanderbilt Head Coach John Williamson. “We averaged in the 150 range and that’s pretty good with our poor showing against New Jersey City.” The Commodores get an early wake up call Sunday as they hit the lanes at 9:00 a.m. Day One Bethune-Cookman (972) def.
