Golfers Improve at Lady Gator 3/5/2005 GAINESVILLLE — Vanderbilt moved up four places into a tie for 13th Saturday at the Lady Gator Invitational. The Commodores posted a team total 311 to equal the 630 total of Florida State. Wake Forest continues to lead at 591. Kristen Svicarovich had Vanderbilt’s best round of the day with a five-over par 75, which included a fine one-over back nine that contained two birdies. However, freshman Devon Unkeless enjoyed VU’s best turn-around. The Denver, Colo., product struggled to an 88 on Friday but posted a steady 77 today over the University of Florida Golf Course. Chris Brady turned in a 79 after an opening day 78 while Liebelei Lawrence shot 80 and Helen-Rose Richards had an 85. Myrte Eikenaar of Purdue and Christine Hallstrom of Wake Forest are tied for the lead at 145 heading into Sunday’s final round. Compete results are available at Golfstat.com. |
