VU Men’s Golfers 8th in California 2/28/2005 WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – Vanderbilt’s men’s golf team is tied for eighth position at the Ashworth Invitational after Monday’s 36 holes of competition. The Commodores opened with a 301 team score and improved the second round with a 293 for a 26-over par total. Brett Lange led Vanderbilt at three-over par. The Atlanta freshman shot two-over 73 in the morning round and came back one-over and is tied for 21st individually. Lange’s second 18 included five birdies, including four in five holes on the front side. Sophomore star Luke List recorded a pair of 75’s after struggling to a triple bogey and two doubles over his 36 holes. Senior Mark Donnell had a 71 his second round after recording a 79 in round one. Tennessee is leading the 15-team field on the basis of a five-under par second round by a single shot over Southern Cal. The tournament, being played on par 71 North Ranch Country Club, will conclude with 18 holes Tuesday.
