Vanderbilt Focuses On Georgia, Looks To Snap Two-Game Losing Streak Game Notes Vanderbilt travels to Athens to battle Georgia Saturday at 3 p.m. CT. The game will not be televised. The Commodores (11-6, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) are looking to snap a two-game losing streak after suffering an 85-62 loss at home to Florida last Saturday. The defeat was Vanderbilt’s first at Memorial Gymnasium in 11 games this season. Vanderbilt entered the week leading the nation with 10.6 3-pointers per game. The Commodores also ranked ninth in the country, shooting 42.3 percent from beyond the arc. Freshman swingman Shan Foster leads the SEC with 15 treys and a .652 3-point shooting percentage since the start of SEC play. Foster scored a career-high 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field and six 3-pointers against Florida. The Commodores’ top scorer this season, Mario Moore leads the team with 13.9 points and 3.8 assists. He has reached double figures in scoring in 15 of Vanderbilt’s 17 games this season. Georgia (6-8, 0-4 SEC) is coming off a 76-55 setback at home to Kentucky last Saturday. Levi Stukes scored a game-high 18 points and Channing Toney added 10 points in the loss. Vanderbilt leads the all-time series with Georgia, 75-43. However, the Bulldogs hold a 28-24 mark in Athens. The two teams split a pair of meetings last season. The Commodores won 61-39 in Nashville on Feb. 11 before Georgia won 71-61 on Senior Day in Athens on March 6. |
