NASHVILLE — A 30-point effort from Florida’s Anthony Roberson doomed the Vanderbilt men’s basketball to its second straight conference loss, 82-65, Saturday at Memorial Gymnasium.

Freshman Shan Foster led four Commodores in double-figures with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from behind the arc. Of Vanderbilt 24 field goals made, half were three-pointers.

Senior Jason Holwerda scored 11 points for Vanderbilt (11-6, 2-2 SEC), while junior Mario Moore and senior Dawid Przybyszewski each added 10.

The Commodores suffered their first setback at home this season, snapping an 11-game win streak dating back to last season.

Vanderbilt rallied from a 13-point Gator lead midway through the first half. However, Florida went on a 17-2 run over the final five minutes of the half to lead 43-27 at intermission.

Florida held a 45-25 margin on the boards as a pair of Gators reached double-figures in rebounds. UF’s David Lee led all players with 17 rebounds to accompany his 11 points. Al Horford contributed 11 boards to the Florida effort.

A Lee free throw at 10:46 of the second half gave the Gators their largest lead of the game, 64-39. Vanderbilt would close to within 12 points late in the game on a Foster three.

Vanderbilt’s bench scored a season-low 10 points on the day. Senior Corey Smith had half of that total, all coming in the first half before suffering an injury.

The Commodores return to action Saturday at Georgia.
