Hahn Gets NCAA Provisional With 5’10 1/15/2005 Lexington, Ky. — An individual third place by senior Josie Hahn in the high jump provided the top Commodore highlight this weekend at the University of Kentucky Invitational. Hahn, a three-time All-America, earned a provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Indoor Championships by clearing 5’10”. She finished behind two of the nation’s top jumpers, Chaunte Howard of Georgia Tech and Stephanie Linz of Michigan. Hahn, a native of Clinton, Tenn., holds five team records, including both indoor and outdoor high jump marks. Her indoor record clearance of 6’0″ came at the 2004 NCAA indoor nationals. In other action, the Commodores’ 4×800-meter relay foursome of junior Alisa Cotter, freshman Lauren Fortson, junior Anna Morgan and junior Latisha Bryant finished fourth overall with a time of 9:40.28. Freshman Andrea Rosemond also achieved the seventh fastest 200 meters all-time by a Commodore with a 25.65 effort. Junior Brittany Sizer enjoyed a successful return to racing after missing several weeks of conditioning after being injured in a fall during cross country season. Sizer took nearly 10 seconds off her 2004 indoor best in the mile with a 5:11.14 performance. The Commodores return to indoor action next weekend, traveling to the University of Illinois Invitational in Champaign. |
