In-Home Ticket Purchasing Offered for Commodore Athletics
Easy Process Available for Vanderbilt-Tennessee Football Tickets

Nashville, Tenn. – Vanderbilt athletics is offering an easy, at-home way for football fans to purchase tickets to the upcoming game between the Commodores and Tennessee Volunteers.

Fans are now able to purchase and actually print their game tickets from home or office computers instead of having to wait in lines or find time during a busy work day to visit the ticket office, according to Vanderbilt athletic marketing officials, who started the convenient purchase plan in late October.

Vanderbilt officials suggest that fans planning to purchase remaining tickets for the November 20 game with Tennessee use the on-line option for their own convenience. The game will be played on the Vanderbilt campus for the first time since 1998.

“I’m extremely pleased to announce this purchase option. This system is about as easy as it can get to order and pick up game tickets,” Vanderbilt athletic marketing director Eric Nichols said. “Now, our fans can purchase tickets on their own schedule and no longer have to drive across town or wait in lines to get their tickets.”

The technology is similar to that offered by several major airlines, allowing passengers to pre-print boarding passes with ticket purchases. Each ticket will have its own barcode that will be scanned at stadium gates for entry. Vanderbilt introduced the scanning procedure during baseball season last year and has continued the procedure through the football season.

The new ticketing system is located online at www.commodoregameday.com.

“We still have Tennessee game tickets remaining,” Nichols says. “I think there are a couple of reasons for that. Some fans may not realize the game is being played on campus rather than downtown in the Coliseum as it has been the last two times. Vanderbilt Stadium has a much smaller capacity and some may wrongly assume the game is already a sellout.”

Tickets for the Vanderbilt-Tennessee football game are $55. In addition to the on-line ticket purchasing, fans can still buy their tickets by calling (615) 322-GOLD or stopping by the McGugin Center Ticket Office Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Vanderbilt men’s and women’s basketball tickets also are available on the convenient on-line purchasing and printing technology option.
