Vanderbilt Women’s Soccer ties South Carolina 1-1 in double overtime

The Commodores continued their long home stay with a tie against South Carolina in double overtime.

Goals by both teams were scored in the second half. Vanderbilt’s goal came from team-high scorer Meghan Habig. The goal was assisted by Lea Lafield putting Lafield tied at the top of the SEC assist leaders. Lafield is tied with two other players in the SEC for most assists totaling six on the season.

 

The Gamecocks goal was scored by Kim Gillespie just 28 minutes into the second half. Habig’s goal came just 8 minutes later. South Carolina’s goal was off a corner kick from Jessi Swaim.

 

The Commodores return to action at home against #8 Florida. Game kicks off at 1:00 p.m
