Women’s soccer set for second SEC game of weekend 10/2/2004 Vanderbilt’s women’s soccer team is ready to welcome the University of Alabama to the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex on Sunday, October 3. The game is set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. The Commodores are coming off a double overtime tie against 20th ranked Auburn. The game against Auburn on Friday night was a shootout by both teams. Auburn put up fifteen shots against the Commodore six. Standout play by goalkeeper Tyler Griffin was the difference and kept the Dores on pace versus the Tigers. Griffin had seven saves while the Auburn goalkeeper Megan Rivera had two saves.
Alabama’s team is currently 6-7 on the season, 1-2 in the SEC. They lost to Kentucky on Friday night, 1-0. Alabama is lead by their two seniors, forward Katie French and midfielder Rebecca Baker. Their coach, Don Staley is 109-92-9 overall at Alabama.
