Women’s soccer grabbed their first win last weekend against DruryUniversity. The Commodores won at home 4-0 and look to improve on their 1-4-1 record. Said Coach Hill, “We are very excited to play our first weekend of SEC competition.   We have a big challenge ahead of us- both LSU and Arkansas are having very good seasons. Competing in the SEC is always a challenge. This weekend marks the birth of our second season of SEC play. There are no easy games in the SEC–and every match counts.  It is both exciting and challenging to begin this part of the year.”

The Arkansas women’s soccer team holds a record of 4-4. The most recent game for the Lady Razorbacks was against Old Dominion when they lost 1-3 in Norfolk, VA.Arkansas is lead by seniors Erica Lewis (midfielder) and Jenni Brashear (defense). Players to watch for the Razorbacks include sophomore midfielder Katie Hamilton who scored one goal and three assists earlier in the year against Southern University.

Vanderbilt is led by seniors Jessica Fear and Molly Wilson. In their winning game versus Drury, the Commodores saw tremendous effort from junior midfielder Lauren Mitchell, sophomore forward Lea Lafield as well sophomore defense Kim Perkins. “It was great to see two of our returning players score their first collegiate goals. Lauren Mitchell and Kim Perkins both tallied a goal against Drury this past weekend. I am hopeful that we can continue to see new faces find the back of the net as the season progresses,” said Coach Hill.
