Commodore Fans to Receive Basketball Highlight DVD with 2004-2005 Season Ticket Purchases Vanderbilt fans purchasing 2004-05 men’s basketball season tickets will receive a free DVD highlighting the Commodores’ run to the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 last year. Season tickets will remain at the 2003-04 price level. A reserved seat for 18 home games starts at only $75. New this year, seats in sections 3A through 3E on the north side of Memorial Gymnasium have been discounted from $290 to $150 and do not require a contribution to the National Commodore Club. Renewals for season tickets were mailed on Friday, Sept. 17. The Vanderbilt Ticket Office asks that all renewals are returned by Oct. 8. Fans are encouraged to use the convenience of Vanderbilt’s new online ticketing service for their renewal at CommodoreGameday.com. Those who renew online will be entered into a contest to receive free season tickets for the 2005-06 season. The Commodores’ 2004-05 schedule features 18 games against teams that advanced to postseason play, including 13 against foes that qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Vanderbilt tips off the regular season against Toledo, Nov. 19, at Memorial Gymnasium. Vanderbilt opens its Southeastern Conference schedule by playing host to Alabama on Jan. 5. The Commodores and Crimson Tide were the final two SEC teams remaining in the 2004 NCAA Tournament. Vanderbilt home dates against other SEC teams ranked in last season’s Top 25 include: Florida, Jan. 15; Kentucky, Feb. 5; and South Carolina, March 2. The 2003-04 Vanderbilt Highlights DVD features a 25-minute recap of last season’s action and is narrated by Joe Fisher, “The Voice of the Commodores.” Also available in the DVD is bonus footage that includes the final few minutes of Vanderbilt’s home wins over Kentucky and Tennessee, as well as its SEC Tournament victory over highly ranked Mississippi State, and the stirring comeback against N.C. State at the NCAA Tournament. Last season, Vanderbilt set a school record for home wins with 15, while recording a 23-10 overall mark. The 23 wins tied for the third most single-season victories in school history.
