Krause took a feed from sophomore Josh Medcalf and junior Patrick Ryan for the game winner that just went to the right of Memphis goalkeeper Sebastian Vecchio after Ryan missed a shot seconds earlier. It was Krause’s team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Memphis outshot Vanderbilt, 18-15. Vecchio totaled a career-high nine saves in the contest, while VU’s Kenny Schoeni numbered three.

The Commodores outshot the Tigers 3-1 in both overtime periods which saw some great goalkeeper play. Krause had a header from 12-yards stopped by Vecchio in the 96th minute. Vecchio then made a diving block on a Medcalf bullet from 8-yards out for his ninth save of the contest.

Freshman Jerry Yirenkyi totaled three shots in the final seven minutes of regulation, including a shot with eight seconds remaining that bounced off Vecchio and over the goal.

Northwestern defeated Eastern Illinois 2-1 in the first game of the day to claim the Vanderbilt PUMA Classic title. Vanderbilt finished second, followed by Memphis and Eastern Illinois.
