Vanderbilt Women’s Soccer Set to Travel to Samford for Exhibition Contest 8/20/2004 Nashville, TN — The Vanderbilt Commodores women’s soccer team will travel to Birmingham, Alabama to face the Samford Bulldogs in their last pre-season exhibition game. The Lady Commodores have never faced Samford and are looking forward to the challenge. Said Head Coach Ronnie Coveleskie Hill, “We are looking forward to going in there and not exactly knowing what we are matching up against. It is always a challenge to play a program that you have never faced before.” The team played to scoreless tie against Furman University this past week but look to advance on their skills. “We want to capitalize on more scoring opportunities. The last game we hit the post four times, we need to turn those into goals,” said of Coveleskie Hill. Vanderbilt women’s soccer opens their regular season on Friday, August 27 against Wake Forest. The game will start at 7:00pm at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex. |
